So that's it for another summer season of trekking guiding, and great to finish on a high. Unsurprisingly, it was on Mont Buet, and the summit view across the whole Mont Blanc massif were perfect, as you can see from this picture. It's always a mix of emotions to finish a season; loads of great memories of places visited and people met, happy to have time off to go and explore other areas in their amazing autumal colours, and yet sad to change the lifestyle for a few months. Thank you to all those who I guided this summer. I hope that you gained a real insight into this amazing region and it's mountains, and memories that will last you forever. As to my plans for the autumn, first it's off to the south coast of France for some sun, diverting via parts of the Alta Via 1 & 2 on the way, then back to the English Lake District for a couple of months for some guiding work, fell running, dog walking and good ole beer drinking! Sounds perfect. Then when the snows come to the Alps, I'll be back for snowshoeing in France, Italy and Switzerland. It's a hard life!
